Why We’re Bringing InterNational Nanny Training Day to Columbus
There are moments in every industry that remind people why their work matters. For nannies, InterNational Nanny Training Day (iNNTD) is one of those moments. It is a day to pause, learn, and celebrate the heart behind what we do. Nurturing children. Supporting families. Building trust inside the home.
This upcoming April, we are bringing that experience to Columbus, Ohio for the very first time, and we could not be more proud.
Hosted by The Heart State Nanny Agency, iNNTD will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at COhatch Polaris. It is a full day created for connection, learning, and growth. It is also open to anyone who believes in caring for children and the people who care for children.
What Is InterNational Nanny Training Day?
InterNational Nanny Training Day was founded in 2012 by Lora Brawley and is now coordinated by Nannypalooza. Each April, during the Week of the Young Child, nannies across the world gather to participate in the same idea at the same time. The idea is simple. Nannies deserve access to professional development and the public should know that quality childcare requires training.
The goal of iNNTD is to raise awareness about the importance of nanny training and to promote quality childcare worldwide. What started as one person’s vision has become a global event. Caregivers, agencies, and educators in many cities now use this day to learn together and to show that nannies are not “just babysitters.” They are early childhood professionals, family partners, and an essential part of the care system.
When nannies grow, children thrive. When caregivers are supported, families flourish. When communities make space for learning, the entire profession becomes stronger.
Why We’re Bringing iNNTD to Columbus
Central Ohio has a beautiful nanny community. We have talented caregivers, committed families, and people who truly love children. What we have not always had is local, in-person training that is written for the nanny experience instead of the classroom experience. A lot of childcare education is designed for centers. Nannies work in homes, which looks very different.
By hosting iNNTD in Columbus, we are creating a space that puts nannies first. We are also keeping the education, the networking, and the opportunities right here in our area. That matters to us. The Heart State Nanny Agency was started by two career nannies who understand how important it is to be seen and supported. Bringing iNNTD here is one of the ways we show our community that nannies deserve high level training too.
What to Expect at the Columbus Event
Our 2026 iNNTD will focus on “Nannying Through the Ages (Developmental Ages).” Children do not stay in the same stage for long, so nannies should have tools for every season.
We are planning breakout sessions such as:
Newborn and Infant Support. Sleep, feeding support, and understanding early development.
Toddler and Preschool. Montessori inspired care, speech and OT insight, picky eaters, and big feelings in little bodies.
School Age. ADHD and neurodivergent kids, fostering a love of reading, and helping children feel safe and successful.
Nanny Focus. Live-in boundaries, professional relationships with parents, and understanding milestones.
You will also have time to network with other nannies, enjoy breakfast and lunch, participate in giveaways, and leave with an iNNTD certificate of completion that you can show to current or future families.
Tickets are intentionally affordable. Early bird is $35. Regular admission is $50. Both include food and the full day of training. We wanted this to be accessible.
Why Nannies Should Attend
If you are a nanny, this day was built with you in mind. You spend your days pouring into children. This is a day where you get poured into.
Here is what you gain:
Practical ideas you can use the next workday.
Community with other nannies so you do not feel isolated.
A certificate that shows you take your career seriously.
A deeper understanding of child development at different ages.
Fresh energy and encouragement.
Other professions have continuing education. Nannies deserve that too. Attending iNNTD is one way to say, “My work matters and I am committed to doing it well.”
Why Families Should Care and Help Their Nannies Attend
Parents, this matters for you too.
When your nanny has access to good training, your child benefits right away. Your nanny comes back with new activities, better language for handling behavior, updated safety knowledge, and more confidence. That makes your home calmer and more consistent.
We strongly encourage families to pay for their nanny’s ticket or to split the cost. You can also pay them for the day - if this falls on a day of a typical schedule - so they do not have to choose between income and education. That gesture communicates respect. It tells your nanny, “We see you as a professional.” That kind of support keeps great nannies in their jobs longer.
Why Businesses Should Sponsor
This event is not only about nannies. It is about building up the entire care ecosystem in Central Ohio.
When local businesses sponsor iNNTD, they help keep ticket prices affordable, which makes the training more accessible for nannies. In return, they are seen by the exact people who spend every day with children and who talk to parents constantly.
Nannies are often the ones recommending classes, pediatric services, play spaces, cafés with kid areas, enrichment programs, summer camps, and family friendly businesses. Sponsoring iNNTD puts your brand in front of those decision makers in a genuine way. It also shows families that your business cares about quality childcare and professional standards.
Why There Is a Ticket Cost
We believe in being clear and honest. Hosting a professional, in-person event costs money. There is the venue, food, printing, speaker time, materials, and the behind the scenes planning. Charging a modest ticket lets us cover those costs without removing quality. It also lets us repeat the event in future years instead of treating it like a one time thing.
It is also important for the industry. When we put a value on training, we tell the world that nanny work is real work.
This is also why we invite families, agencies, and businesses to help cover costs for the nannies in their lives.
Giving Back: Supporting The Nanny Relief Fund
One of the most meaningful parts of hosting this event is that any money we make beyond covering event costs will be donated directly to The Nanny Relief Fund.
The Nanny Relief Fund is a community fund that helps nannies facing unexpected financial hardships. Whether it is covering groceries between jobs, helping with a medical bill, or supporting someone who needs a refill of stability after a hard season, the fund exists to make sure no nanny has to struggle alone.
Supporting the Relief Fund is our way of giving back to the same community that gives so much every day. It keeps the heart of this event true to its purpose — caring for the caregivers. By attending, sponsoring, or simply spreading the word, you help lift up nannies who need a little extra support.
Why This Matters to The Heart State Nanny Agency
From the beginning, we said we wanted The Heart State Nanny Agency to be more than a placement service. We wanted to mentor. We wanted to create community. We wanted to support nannies throughout their careers.
Hosting InterNational Nanny Training Day in Columbus is one of the clearest ways to do that. It brings nannies, families, early childhood professionals, and local businesses into the same room. It helps people see that in-home care can be professional, joyful, and well supported. It reflects our belief that when caregivers feel confident and connected, children receive better care.
