Part-Time After-School Nanny Needed in New Albany, Ohio

🏡 Position Overview

A warm, organized, and active New Albany family is seeking a dependable and engaging long-term nanny to care for their three school-aged children during the afternoons. This family is looking for someone who enjoys staying active, managing multiple schedules, and becoming a trusted, long-term part of their family. The family also has a cat. Loving cats is a bonus, but you must at least be comfortable with pets.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, enjoys working with older children, and is confident managing after-school routines, transportation to activities, and helping afternoons run smoothly.

Start Date: August 17, 2026

The nanny will spend the first three days (August 17–19) getting to know the children before the school year begins on August 20. This allows everyone to build a relationship and establish routines before transitioning into the after-school schedule.

✏️ School Year Schedule: Monday–Friday 1:45 PM – 5:45 PM

20 Guaranteed Hours Weekly

The nanny will begin each afternoon at the family's home at 1:45 PM. Before school pick-up, the family may ask the nanny to complete one or two light child-related household tasks, such as folding the children's laundry or unloading the dishwasher. Around 2:45 PM, the nanny will leave to pick up the oldest child from school.

The remainder of the afternoon includes:

  • School pick-ups

  • Transportation to extracurricular activities

  • Providing after-school snacks

  • Helping children prepare for activities

  • Assisting the oldest child with her ballet bun when needed

  • Creating a warm, engaging, and positive after-school environment

No School Days

On scheduled school closure days, the family would love for the nanny to be available to work a full-day schedule (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) whenever possible.

While availability on these days is preferred, it is not required. The family understands that some candidates may have other commitments and is happy to discuss scheduling with the right long-term nanny.

**Currently anticipated no-school dates include September 21, October 16, January 15, February 12, February 15, and February 16.

🤝 Compensation

  • $28–30 per hour

  • 20 Guaranteed Hours

  • Monthly mileage reimbursement for all work-related driving using the nanny's personal vehicle.

  • Three paid sick days annually.

  • Paid major holidays, including:

    • Labor Day

    • Thanksgiving

    • Christmas (including one paid week while the family is off for Winter Break)

    • New Year's Day

    • Memorial Day

  • Holiday bonus.

☀️ Summer Schedule

This family is seeking a long-term nanny who will return each school year.

Each January or February, the family will determine their summer childcare needs. Depending on camp schedules and family plans, the nanny may have the summer off before returning for the following school year. If summer care is needed, the family is open to discussing continued employment during the summer months.

  • Unloading the dishwasher

  • Tidying children's spaces

  • Preparing children's belongings for activities

These responsibilities are intended to help fill the guaranteed 20-hour schedule and are not extensive housekeeping duties.

The nanny will use their own reliable vehicle.

The family will:

  • Provide a booster seat as needed.

  • Provide monthly mileage reimbursement for all work-related driving.
